Meadville, PA. Today representatives from EMMCO West, Inc. presented the Make-a-Wish foundation with a check for $2,000. During EMMCO West's annual educational symposium a chinese auction was held, which featuring various themed gift baskets.   Jane Hamza, EMMCO West's EMS Educational Specialist noted that several of this year's baskets had unique themes, ranging from Steeler items to chocolate treats.  She noted that one "basket" consisted of a 6 foot tall potted tree that held lottery tickets and gift cards from its branches.

EMMCO West is pleased to be able to support wishes within our community. The 2007 Make-a-Wish recipient was a child from Forest County.  They completed their wish by going to Disney World. The 2008 child is from Crawford County and their wish is to get a swimming pool.  Weather permitting, by the end of May they should have their pool installed at their residence.

EMMCO West thanks the contributors of the themed baskets.  Each year the baskets get bigger and more creative.  EMMCO West especially thanks the conference participants that made the donation to Make-a-Wish possible.  Thank You for making another wish come true!

EMS Leadership Classes Planned

EMMCO West, Inc. has planned a series of workshops and seminars for EMS practitioners, managers, administators, and other EMS stakeholders who are interested in learning about leadership skills.  Targetted from April - June 2008, workshops and seminars will be held at various locations throughout the EMMCO West region.

Proposed topics include:

• Leadership Skills
• Strategic Planning
• Ambulance Operations
• Legal Aspects of EMS
• Financial Management
• Mentoring
• Excellence in Customer Service

There will be a special recognition dinner in September 2008 for participants who meet minimum attendance / participation requirements.
