Purpose of the Award

To honor a regional EMS practitioner that has displayed leadership, insight and vision to improve EMS within the EMMCO West region.

Eligibility

Currently certified ALS or BLS practitioner.

Has demonstrated their ability to enrich and contribute to the growth of EMS within the NW PA EMMCO West region.

first national.JPG2008 VOLUNTEER EMS PRACTITIONER OF THE YEAR

Purpose of the Award

To honor an individual provider for their continued support of volunteer activities and the promotion of the volunteer spirit among their peers.

Eligibility

Currently certified Pennsylvania EMS Practitioner or active member of an organization as an Ambulance Attendant.

Actively participates in leadership rolls of a volunteer group/organization.

Acts primarily as a volunteer EMS provider.

Participates in other community volunteer activities.

Purpose of the Award

To honor an individual rescue technician who has contributed significantly to the development and growth of a rescue service in the

EMMCO West region.

Eligibility

Rescue technicians who are currently certified in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, who have made significant contributions in any of the following areas:

Planning and development of rescue services in the EMMCO West region.

Leadership in the advancement of rescue services.

Education and training of fire/rescue/EMS personnel.

Leadership among peers.

Purpose of the Award

To honor a dispatcher who has contributed to the advancement of EMS in the EMMCO West region.

Eligibility

An active dispatcher who has made a significant contribution in any, but not limited to the following areas:

Active participation in education and training of EMS and public personnel in use, access or support of emergency dispatch.

Contributes in planning and development of emergency dispatch systems.

Management of a crisis situation which led to the improvement of an emergency response.

Leadership among peers

Purpose of the Award

To honor an emergency medical service or EMS practitioner for their contribution to the development and implementation of a safety/prevention program(s) within the their service or community within the EW region.

Eligibility

Any EMS Service or individual PA certified practitioner in the EW region who has a significant contribution in the following areas:

Participated in community oriented activities (CPR Training, EMS Week Activities, EW Safety Initiatives, School Programs, etc.)

Cooperates and integrates with surrounding public safety organizations.

Emphasizes personnel training, con-ed and professional development.

Integrates safety and prevention into their mission statement. (of the service).
