| đźš‘ 2026 EMMCO West EMS Education Symposium
Join us for an incredible opportunity to connect, learn, and recharge alongside some of the most passionate professionals in EMS. Whether you’re looking to sharpen your skills, gain new perspectives, or simply spend time with colleagues who understand the job—this symposium delivers.
🔥 Friday: Learn. Engage. Experience.
Kick off Friday morning with a wide range of concurrent educational sessions, each offering 60 or 90 minute blocks of valuable continuing education. Choose the topics that matter most to you and build your own learning experience.
In the afternoon, get ready to move. Thanks to our partners at AHN and UPMC, we’re transforming learning into action with interactive, round-robin style sessions. This is your chance to get hands-on with scenarios and tools you don’t encounter every day—designed to make you a stronger provider in the field.
We’re also planning a Friday evening social event near the hotel — because some of the best connections happen after hours.
🌟 Saturday: Inspiration & Insight
Start your day with a phenomenal breakfast while hearing from two dynamic keynote speakers:
AJ Heightman With an extraordinary 51-year career in EMS, AJ has served in leadership, operations, publishing, and consulting at the highest levels—including 26 years as Editor-in-Chief of JEMS. His perspective spans the full evolution of EMS, and his insights are both practical and inspiring.
James Schmidt Co-founder of the Gabby Petito Foundation and a retired firefighter/EMS professional, Jim brings a powerful and deeply personal message. Drawing from the widely known Gabby Petito case, he now trains first responders to better recognize and respond to domestic violence-related incidents—a topic that is as critical as it is impactful.
⏰ Plan Ahead
The symposium will conclude by 1:00 PM on Saturday, giving you time to enjoy the rest of your Mother’s Day weekend with family.
